Chip Quik® SMD Removal Instructions
SMD Removal (with Solder iron)
- Apply Chip Quik® (SMD 291 ) Flux with syringe on all
pins of SMD.
- Melt a bead of Chip Quik® removal alloy uniformly across
all pins of the SMD.

With a solder iron maintain alloy in molten state long
enough to release SMD.
- Lift SMD from PCB with a pick-up tool
HOW TO CLEAN PADS
- Apply heat to the each pad with a solder iron
- Follow solder iron with a swab dipped in SMD 291 flux.
- While applying heat, polish each pad with swab and flux
until each pad is thoroughly clean.
- Clean remaining residue on PCB with an alcohol pad.
- Now you are ready to install the new SMD
